What’s on your Christmas Wish List this year?

So Christmas is fast approaching, and I can definitely say that I’m feeling the Christmas spirit more this year than the last, er, five years. Usually at this time of year I’d be caught up in a massive bout of depression and I’d go around telling people how much I hate this season, go wild whenever I hear that cursed Jose Mari Chan song, and tell kids that Santa Claus doesn’t exist.

I honestly don’t know what changed, and frankly, I don’t care. I’m just really starting to enjoy myself.

So yeah, what’s on your Christmas wish list? I’m really interested in what you want for the holidays. It’s not like I can afford to give you all everything you want, but yeah, tell me.

On the other hand, I have a few things I’d like to get my hands on this Christmas. Since my readers (yes, you) are inconsiderate fucks who never give me anything for Christmas, I’ll just make this a list of stuff I hope to acquire by myself within the next year.

Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver

11th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver
Seriously, everybody’s getting one of these babies except for me. And I’m the one dedicating a shitload of posts to Doctor Who on this blog. So yeah, I want one of those, so I can wave it around like I’m about to assemble a cabinet at people.

Fender Jazz Bass

Fender Jazz Bass
I actually have an Aria 5-string right now and it’s serving me well. I really don’t have anything logical to justify why I need a Fender Jazz Bass, except that those things are pretty and they can sound totally different from my current bass and that I can apply that sound to a whole set of different songs. Also, Jaco Pastorius owned one of these babies.

Macbook Pro Retina

If you’ve been following my blog since 2009, you’d know that I bought a laptop called Apocalypto back then. It was pretty awesome and it served me well, throughout so many blog posts, work emails and projects, and the massive library of music and movies I managed to make for myself. I am sad to report that Apocalypto no longer refuses to boot up. I think I can get it repaired, but those new Retina Macbooks look pretty tempting.

iPad air

Because I want something to play Angry Birds and Infinity Blade with all day long. It’s either the Macbook or this, and I think this is the more realistic purchase.

Audio Technica ATH-M50

I have a problem focusing on work if I don’t have music blaring in my ears. I do have my trusty in-ear monitors for scratching that portable music itch, but using IEMs on my desk for prolonged periods of time only gives me migraines. This baby is for isolating myself while I focus on work, without having to constantly stuff my ears with silicone and making myself deaf in the process.

My Own Place

No, not a flat that I rent with a couple of friends. I want my own place, under my own name, where I can live alone and do whatever I want. Mainly with me pants-less while stuffing my face with Cheetos and watching some random movie on HBO that I don’t really like but I can’t change the channel because I’m too lazy. And you’re welcome for that mental image.

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (or any other USB audio interface)

This is for home recording needs. RomCom‘s on the verge of recording a new EP and a home studio setup sounds really nice. And I really want to learn sound engineering, so this could be a great place to start.

But seriously, guys, this is what I really want

If you’re going to give me something this year, just use that money to donate to Yolanda survivors. I know the international community has donated more money that we can ever imagine, but we’re looking at years of reconstruction and rehabilitation here. Every little bit helps, and you can get started here.

What about you? What’s on your Christmas wish list? Tell me the things you want for the holidays in the comments!

  1. Filbar’s in Megamall is selling a version of Tenth’s screwdriver (effects and all) that doubles as a pen. With invisible ink. In which you would need a blue light to read whatever you write with it. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Looks like I’ll be dropping there soon, then! If they have Eleventh Doctor screwdrivers, it will be PERFECT. Thanks!

  2. That reminds me, I need do my own! 😀
