In Rotation: Albums On Repeat

It’s been a while since I’ve written something remotely close to personal on this blog. It’s mostly Doctor Who and geek news now, and I probably need to mix it up a bit with stuff from my life. I can start by giving you a rundown of the four new albums I have on repeat at the moment.

Alright, let’s begin!

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – Chasing Yesterday

Oasis was an amazing band. Noel Gallagher drove much of Oasis’ success, and his second solo studio album in a row, Chasing Yesterday, proves that he’s come a long way from Wonderwall. Even though he’s still using mostly the same chords.

Kirby Krackle – Mutate, Baby!

I’m a big fan of this Seattle-based nerd-rock band, and although Mutate, Baby! does not have a song as catchy as Ring Capacity from E for Everyone, songs like The Yellow King and The Day My Powers Arrived are still fantastic.

Modest Mouse – Strangers to Ourselves

I still don’t know what to make of this new album from Modest Mouse. I’m really liking Pistol (A. Cunanan, Miami, FL, 1996), but this album deserves a couple more listens for me to really dig it.

Toto – Toto XIV

Yes, I love Toto. Shut up. Their former bassist and one of my bass heroes, Mike Porcaro, just died. This may be their last album ever. Show them some respect.

What new albums do you have in rotation right now?
