OCD: The Musical

Welcome back!
Feel free to poke around the archives, check out my featured posts, or just send me an email. Don't forget to subscribe to my RSS Feed! It's doubleplusgood!

So maybe it’s not news to you if I told you that I bought me a new iPod (to replace the shuffle that went kaput) a couple of weeks ago. And I’ve been playing around with iTunes afterwards. You see, I haven’t updated iTunes in a long while, and since my new nano required iTunes 7, I had to install the latest version (BTW, it took me two hours and three tries to download and install it. Thanks a lot for the stable software, Steve).

Anyway, I’m curious what you guys are listening to. So open up your iTunes (or whatever music player you’ve got installed), and go to the “Top 25 Most Played” playlist (or your player’s equivalent). And tell me what’s your #1 song in that list, and how many times you’ve played it. As a bonus, you can also tell me what’s the song currently playing as you read this. Screenshots NOT mandatory.

Here’s mine, by the way: “Night and Day” by Lisa Ono, which played for a measly 39 times (I had to reinstall iTunes, see?). And my current song playing is “Fuck Her Gently” by Tenacious D.

So, what’s yours?

“This Modern Love” by Bloc Party, played 138 times (but I use iTunes more at work). The current song playing is… “Hi! You’re On Ambush Makeover!” er, that was the TV.

Nice list of songs. Though I don’t use iTunes, it’s such a memory hog, thanks again Steve.

Anyways, I still use WinAmp and I could say that most played song would be Yakap by Callalily, it’s a good song and I’m trying to learn its drum works. ;)

I use iTunes and I was able to load it with thousands of songs from my brother-in-laws iPod. But now, I want to buy from the iTunes store and it appears that it’s not available in the Philippines (or any other Asian country except Japan). Am I right or do you think I’m doing something wrong?

Well, I haven’t tried the iTunes store that much yet, so I can’t give you a definite answer. But I was able to download the free downloads of the week offerings, I think you should be able to do that too. And I don’t think they’re picky on the country of the origin of their buyer, just as long as you have a credit card.

Also, you haven’t answered my question. :P

Jeff Buckley’s Last Goodbye, Mr. Big’s Green-Tinted Sixties Mind, and Extreme’s Rest in Peace. Also, Dream Theater’s Erotomania. That’s what I play in my workstation. At home, it’s Sting’s Ten Summoner’s Tales and other easy-listening music. Can’t risk playing loud music for fear of waking my son up, ergo, I lose sleep as well. Hehehe.

Ade… my husband gets all the free podcasts from iTunes so panay NBA fantasy hoops and tennis lessons. :) Try buying any song… when they ask for the billing address, they only have a list of countries from Europe and North America and Japan, I think. Naiinis ako, because there are no good CDs for sale here. :( Anyway, my number 1 song is the Mozart Concerto No. 12 in A Major by Mozart… sorry boring. :) I’m so out of the loop with music (pero over naman sa luma yung pinakikinggan ko). :)

Hey Mozart is cool! :) I listen to him! And Bach too! Seriously!

My iTunes is in constant random play mode so it’s a good mix of cool stuff and gay crap in there. Yeah, I’m not OC with my playlist. Bite me.

iTunes is my favorite media player. It’s more organized and the recent version has great features.

Anyway, I am listening to Irreplaceable by Beyonce and the top most played is Feelin’ You by Jermaine Dupri and 3LW. It was played for 457 times since I added it on July 20, 2006.

I’m totally OCD when it comes to the filing of my songs in my iPod. What must be capitalized MUST be capitalized and there is no spelling error whatsoever (I hope lol), since I check each and every ID3 tag online.

Top 25 most played: Anna Molly by Incubus (play count: 65)
Currently listening to: Joshua Radin – Closer

    Here’s my last.fm http://www.last.fm/user/juicyme
The number 1 most played song there is Justin T’s My Love though. Hehe =D

iTunes is my favorite music player too, it’s totally built for music OCD ppl like me. Have you heard of SongBird? I’d wanna try that soon.

when i’m playing music in our pc, i would rather use windows media player. (the itunes really, really annoy me, for some reason. like it pops out when you don’t need it. so i don’t ever use it.)

so i really don’t have the statistics needed to answer your question. but my guess is that the most played song in my list is madonna’s “substitute for love”. :)

“Fuck Her Gently” –> I like the voice of the guy who sang this. Also, the video is hillarious.
