Something to Lose Sleep Over

Ever had one of those times when you want to solve a certain problem so hard that you are losing sleep over it? I have my fair share of sleepless nights over some problems with unfathomable solutions.

Me, being philosophical

What stuff do I lose sleep over? Let’s just say I ponder about deep, philosophical questions that will benefit mankind. If I even solve a quarter of the problems in my head, the world would be a better place. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you my biggest problem so far:

Just how do you effin’ call this decade?

I mean, the 60’s are called “The Sixties”, the 70’s are called “The Seventies”, the 80’s are called “The Mullet Eighties”, the 90’s are called… well, you get my drift. It makes sense to type this decade as “00’s”, but we’re already halfway through the decade and we still don’t have a verbal term for it! Don’t you guys get it? It’s scary! VERY scary! I’m losing sleep over this! AM I THE ONLY ONE BOTHERED BY THIS?!

I’ve thought up of a few names for this decade, but I just can’t decide on one:

  • The Zeroes
  • The Double O’s (currently my favorite)
  • ZeroZero
  • Decade Zero
  • Double Whammy
  • The Decade That Must Not Be Named

So what do you guys think? What do you prefer? Can you guys think up of a few ones of your own? Please help me get me my peace of mind back. I need to have a good night’s sleep badly.

  6. Hmmm…you just lured a lot of people with this blog. Impressive. It reminded me of those MTV snippets of OPM artists speaking their minds out about the new millenium (cue Rico Blanco, “I’ve been used to writing “apostrophe 99″ to refer to 1999. Now that the millenium’s coming, should I write “apostorphe 00″? Just askin’…” Cool, suave, and somewhat sarcastic…keep on writing, ade. Its fun seeing 20-something people experiencing what you refer to as the “quarter-life crisis”. I can’t wait for you to discover lots of pretty interesting things…

I really need to solve this life-changing problem, lest we reach “The Tens” without even naming the ’00s.
